Swarovski Crystal Rhinestones

I love these pictures of genuine Swarovski crystals. We just got another shipment in. I love how these sparkle.

We only use Swarovski crystals because the look is far superior to the other options out there. Put our rhinestones next to the "other" kind. It is so easy to see that using the right crystal can really make your invitation.

Rhinstones are our favorite way to add sparkle to an invitation, enhance the elegance and look of the invitation.

Just one small rhinestone can be placed at tip of a monogram or in the center of an invitation to balance out the spacing of the wording.

Swarovski Crystals come in a variety of colors. The colored rhinestones can be used to bring in the wedding colors to an invitation in a simple and elegant way.

Place Cards

Place cards are an elegant touch for formal events. Using place cards is a way to organize your guests into groups to make the event more enjoyable for them. This way you can accommodate seating requirements, etc. But place cards can also be used for practical purposes as well.

Consider Taryn and David. This couple hosted a sit-down dinner for 250 people following their wedding ceremony. Each guest requested one of three entrée choices on their rsvp cards. Taryn wondered how to let the servers know which guests ordered the chicken entrée, who selected the beef entrée, and who needed the vegetarian option.

Taryn wanted a consistent look to the tables, so we opted to design a place card that changed out the ribbon as the embellishment. We used Taryn and David’s wedding colors to accent the place cards. A green ribbon on the place card instructed the server to bring chicken. A gold ribbon meant beef, and a black ribbon was for the vegetarian dish.

Place cards can also be used as food labels for buffet style serving. By labeling the food, there is no question regarding what the food item is. Food labels are especially useful for labeling assortments of smaller finger foods and buffet-type meals.

You can use place cards, or food labels as a way to continue your wedding theme, and add color and style to your table.

With the multitude of options available for these functional and fun cards, these cards can be a fun way to enhance your special event.

Wedding Favor Ideas - The Candy Bar and Startup Candy

Candy Bars are a great way to personalize weddings favors by using some of the bride and groom’s favorite candies. The display is not only colorful and beautiful, but the candy groupings are sure to delight your guests’ tastebuds as well.

One of our favorite treats for candy bars are suckers from Startup Candies. These old-fashioned jumbo pops are fun for children and adults. The quality of these lollipops can’t be matched. Not only are the flavors exceptionally delicious but, the lollipops come on beautiful wooden sticks. We are yet to find another lollipop that comes on a wooden stick.

Since they come in 27 different flavors, they are sure to have a color combination that will work for your wedding.

We first saw the Startup Candy lollipops at the wedding reception of Kim and Trent. They had suckers displayed in matching apothecary jars with the bride and groom’s initials on the jar. The result was simple, elegant and so fun. We were hooked!

Now, we give our brides one of these lollipops when they come in for a consultation as a tasty treat.

Startup Candy has a great history starting in England, then coming across the plains with the pioneers, eventually settling here in Utah Valley in 1875. The trade has now been passed down for 5 generations. Everything is still hand made, here locally, in their Provo Factory.

Start-up Candy has other fun vintage candy options. Check out their website for more information: www.startupcandy.com or at 801.373-8673.

Thank you Startup for providing the best quality candy for Paper Hearts!

Printing the Return Address

Order by Saturday, October 31, 2009, from our collection of Birchcraft wedding invitations, and you’ll get your envelopes entirely for free!

Do I need to print the return address on the back of the envelope?

Printing the return address is an important piece of your wedding invitations. A properly addressed envelope has both the recipient’s address in the center of the envelope and a return address. The return address can appear in the upper left corner, or on the back of the envelope.

The purpose of the return address is two-fold:

First – if the envelope is undeliverable, the postmaster will return the envelope to you. This way, you can correct the problem, and re-mail the invitation to your guest.

Second – your guests will use the return address if they need to mail a gift.

These two purposes make it vital that you have the return address on your envelopes.

There are many ways to get the return address on your envelope.

  1. You can have your invitation printer print the return address. When it is professionally printed, the work is done, requiring no additional time on your part. Additionally, you will not have any smudging or smearing of the address.
  2. You can use an embossing tool or stamping tool and do the work on your own.
  3. You can print labels and attach them to the envelope yourself.
  4. You can hand-write the addresses.

Don't forget to check out the website for the free return address printing special!

Custom Invitations by Paper Hearts

Your wedding invitation should be a reflection of your style and the event you are planning. At Paper Hearts, we offer custom design services so you can have the invitation of your dreams.

This is an invitation we just recently printed for Jenni and Mitch. The bride’s wedding colors were Tiffany Blue, ivory and different shades of pink. She was so much fun to work with and we were delighted with the turnout.

Jenni fell in love with our line of shimmer papers, and settled on the ivory color as the base for her invitations. It really makes the color pop! We ran this invitation on a four color press, so she could have the right shade of blue.

Everything is all tied together with the Tiffany Blue band and a monogrammed medallion.

On the Monogram we added a Tiffany Blue Crystal for the finishing touch.

If you would like to get more information on this invitation or any of our designs, contact us here.

Professional Printing vs. the Copy Machine

One day I received a phone call from a mother, wanting invitations for her daughter's upcoming wedding. During the course of the conversation, she asked, "So what is the difference between you and the local copy center?"

At Paper Hearts, we pride ourselves on being very different from the competition. Even if you end up choosing an invitation stock that is offered elsewhere, our invitations turn out better because of the experience involved in selecting your invitations. Our customer service, attention to detail and the expertise of our employees is what makes us different.

When choosing a printer for your wedding invitations, these are some things to think about:

A local copy store uses completely different technology than we do. A copy store merely reproduces an image on another piece of paper using photocopy technology. The resulting quality of the image will never be as good as the original. Copy centers are limited in what they can do, and don't forget, they cannot use metallic inks, and are only able print images with flat ink.

All of our invitations are professionally printed on actually presses. This requires the use of printing plates. Yes, the turnaround time is longer than the copy center, but the end result is an image that is crisp, accurate and truly beautiful.

Everything is proofed before we print, so when you see your invitations, the end result is even more beautiful than you imagined. We have a rainbow of ink color options, and can use raised or flat ink. Where copy centers are largely self-serve, at Paper Hearts, we're full serve. We want to make your invitations perfect!

Is it possible to print on dark paper?

This is a very common question and there can be a lot of confusion over it.

Yes, it can be done! Our favorite method for printing light ink on dark papers is to use foil lettering. Foil gives the lettering a crisp, distinct look and is easily readable.

We have 25 different colors of foil and provide options with both the traditional metallic finish, or a matte finish. Here we have a few examples of invitations we have printed on dark papers. These first two are examples of a matte foil in white and fuchsia.

The next question is can you print on a dark shimmer paper?

Yes! It turns out beautiful too! This is an example of a few we printed recently.

The first is a black shimmer paper printed with a white matte finish.

The second is a brown shimmer paper with a gold metallic finish.

Printing on dark papers doesn't stop at the invitations and announcements we also print a lot of dark colored envelopes. Pictured is a dark shimmer envelope with a white matte foil finish.
